Who is Lou?
Lou Vicious developed very naturally.
‘best vicious, Lou’ – I formally used this tag for street art and online presences. Over the years I continued to use this name for several little projects but without any consistency. The common ground of these projects is, that they are personal and go beyond what is generally defined as photography. They exist as the results of what I formerly used photography for –self expression.
This shows in different facets: either as model for other photographers, through self portraits, as singer/songwriter – and there is more to come.
I chose to put aside those
“mind made” boundaries through which I only restricted myself.
Lou Vicious is more than a name and more than a project.
It’s more than a concept and more than a character. It’s a synonym for the aspects of myself that need expression and that seek expansion.
Lou Vicious is intuitive and finds perfect order in chaos.

is what someone commented under this picture, when I posted it on instagram.
I loved that, since it described perfectly what my intention for this series was. When I created them, I wanted the images to look in an odd way other-worldly, dreamy, lighthearted and spherical – it moved me and made me happy, that someone who didn’t know my intentions resonated with what I was about. If something like that happens, I am satisfied..

Also, the more I discover other artists or music, I recognize that I am often drawn to dreamy atmospheres and get inspired by spherical sounds.
This is why I chose a picture of this series as the cover image for the song I released – almost during the same time, when I shot these images. To me sound and vision went along very well..
